I used to take Ballet lessons from the age of 4 yrs. until about 6th grade. The only reason I stopped was that the place we moved to didn't have a dance studio for miles. So, putting these passions together of a young ballerina and art is a great way for me to remember younger ambitions.

This was done with watercolor on Arches paper.
A quote from Monet: All I did was to look at what the universe showed me, to let my brush bear witness to it.

My Husband, Jonathan gave me a book not too many Christmases ago. He knows I love people's stories and this was the perfect book. It is called Listening Is an act of Love. I'll give you a little excerpt of the front cover of the book.
"Story corps began with the idea that everyone has an important story to tell. Since 2003 this remarkable project has been collecting the stories of everyday Americans and preserving them for future generations.....The project represents a wondrous nationwide celebration of our shared humanity, capturing for posterity the stories that define us and bind us together.....The voices here connect us to real people and their lives-to their experiences of profound joy, sadness, courage, and despair, to good times, and hard times, to good deeds and misdeeds....We are our history, individually and collectively, and Listening Is an Act of Love touchingly reminds us of this powerful truth." The title of this painting in the works is "The Story Teller". But to be a good story teller you have to be a good listener as well.

This is a doodle page, something I really enjoy is doodling-no expectation of what it will become no expectation of if it will be on paper what is in my mind. Just pure fun of putting pencil or pen or color to paper. I did this off and on for a year when I felt like it.

The scariest thing for a visual artist:losing vision

This is a watercolor painting on arches paper having to do with eye health.

"Fuel"

Music and Dance are "Fuel" for my soul. They also fuel my creativity.

My mom in sepia toned watercolors.  It was from a photo my dad has in his wallet with creases since he has kept it there for who knows how long.  They've been married 56 years and this was before they were married. She had auburn hair so the color works for her real hair color.  This was an interesting study of trying to stay in that tone.

a memory painting

Here's a memory painting for my daughter as she went off to college. It's a collection of her favorite childhood things in a still life.
